Project overview
The project aimed to design and develop a custom, holistic transportation management system (TMS) to support rapid business scaling and new product lines, while maintaining profit growth. Key goals included automating and accelerating manual scanning and sorting to handle a 100% increase in package volume, reducing parcel handling errors, and leveraging innovative technologies to drive further business expansion. Our work included developing a central parcel web management system, a warehouse app, a label configurator web app and a courier app for last mile delivery and integration with B2B and ecommerce shipping partners. Future plans involve our team implementing a billing and reporting system, so our client can monitor costs and settlements with couriers and partners.
Client background
A leading specialized courier company with over 10 years of industry experience and an impressive 65% year-over-year growth rate. The company operates a modern fleet of vehicles specifically designed to transport temperature-sensitive food and is renowned for its tailored approach to customer service.

Goals
Developing a custom TMS system to enable the scaling of operations and introduction of new product lines. Keeping the company’s annual profit growth at its current level of +40%. Driving operational excellence through process automation, by speeding up mostly manual scanning and sorting processes to enable package volume +100% growth YOY. Reducing the number of errors in a parcel-handling process. Introducing innovative tech-based product lines to increase profit and business growth. Supporting the company’s international expansion of operations.

Results
Guaranteeing the company's growth
Maintaining the company's growth at 65% YOY and ensuring its operations are prepared for future scaling
Boosting daily package volume by 150%
Increasing package volume from 40,000 to 100,000 parcels per day through process digitalization and automation – without needing additional workers or warehouse space
Double package volume and higher NPS scores
Re-engineering the warehouse process by introducing label scanning to increase parcel handling speed and minimize error rates, resulting in increased package volume and significantly improved NPS scores from business partners and end clients
Digital transformation
Leading full process digitization with hardware (scanning devices, hauls, warehouse setup), software (full spectrum of digital product ecosystem, from central console, web apps, mobile apps, scanning device), and process design to enable seamless scaling of operations
New product line and geographical expansion
Enabling our client to broaden their product range with two new lines, e-commerce delivery and medicine delivery, while also expanding geographically to the Czech Republic

FAQ
How was the solution's architecture designed to support logistics workflows, mobile driver apps and backend operations?
The solution's architecture was designed as a holistic digital ecosystem. It featured a central parcel web management system as the backend hub. This central system supported specialized applications, including a warehouse app for scanning and sorting, and a courier app for last-mile delivery drivers, enabling mobile workflows. The architecture also included a label configurator web app and was built to integrate with external B2B and e-commerce shipping partners, ensuring data flowed seamlessly across all logistics operations.
