Our client relied on MS Excel, augmented with numerous Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) macros, for their financial reporting needs. This approach faced increasing challenges related to process inefficiency and the scalability limitations of the Excel platform. Recognizing the need for modernization, our team was asked to enhance efficiency, overcome platform constraints and develop targeted tools to automate both existing macro-driven workflows and persistent manual processes.

Revenue Edge offers comprehensive revenue management services for multifamily organizations that lack the internal resources to implement a successful revenue management program.

Goals

Analyzing our client's existing reporting workflows and identifying specific inefficiencies, Excel/VBA approach limitations and key manual processes. Designing and developing a modernized solution to replace or augment the most critical and problematic VBA-driven reporting tasks. Automating specific, high-impact manual processes identified during the analysis phase.

Results

Reducing processing time

Variance processing time decreased from 2-3 hours to 30 minutes. New lease workbooks preparations were reduced from over 8 hours to 1-1.5 hours. Renewal workbook preparations sped up from 3-4 hours to 30-60 minutes.

Automating work and minimizing errors

Eliminating cumbersome manual work and reducing the risk of human errors by introducing a more suitable way to simultaneously process multiple reports.
