Project overview
Software Mind was tasked with developing a platform for CAMARA–certified APIs. The goal was to build a scalable platform with high code quality and simplify the deployment of new features by introducing a modern architecture, tools and CI/CD process. The platform exposes CAMARA APIs and integrates with network systems including GMLC, SMSC, HSS and Mobile Connect.
Client background
Our client is a leading provider of telecommunications services in Poland and part of a global telecommunications group. It boasts the largest infrastructure in Poland, enabling it to offer services using cutting-edge technologies, including gigabit fiber-optic internet and a 5G network.
Goals
Our key objectives were to design and implement a CAMARA API-compliant platform that would successfully pass certification. We prioritized developing code free from high and critical vulnerabilities, alongside setting on-prem CI/CD standards and building a rapid change implementation process. All this was done while automating CAMARA end-to-end (E2E) test scenarios for robust quality.
Results
CAMARA API certification
By successfully achieving CAMARA certification, the app ensures compliance and interoperability.
Robust & scalable architecture
Implemented a stateless, event-based architecture with geo-redundancy that provides easy scalability and the ability to handle traffic with priority/SLA levels.
Efficient CI/CD & rapid deployment
Application pipelines are now fast and independent, enabling rapid code deployment to all environments. This was supported by setting up an easy environment using Docker and moving microservices to a dedicated infrastructure.
Comprehensive quality assurance
Ensured high quality and reliability via extensive unit and integration test coverage, as well as automated end-to-end (E2E) CAMARA testing.
Enhanced security
Strengthened the client’s security profile by eliminating all high and critical vulnerabilities.
Database process optimization
Implemented automation across database processes to optimize operational workflows and enhance data reliability.
