Project overview
Our team was tasked with optimizing the overall outbound roaming traffic volumes in the selected roaming destinations by using a Steering of Roaming (SoR) solution. The project involved setting up a testing environment to test the integration and migration of existing data from a legacy system. The designed system had to be integrated with the Signal Transfer Point (STP) and Diameter Routing Agent (DRA) and housed in the cloud, while adhering to the highest security standards. The project had to launch simultaneously in two countries, and Software Mind had a tight timeline for completing the plan.
Client background
Our clients are leading Czech and Slovakian telecom mobile carriers that operate as a part of an international diversified investment group. Both brands are known for their innovative mobile solutions and customer-centric approach.
Goals
The project aimed to optimize the outbound roaming service costs per roaming partner and help the client fulfill the roaming discount deals (based on the committed services volumes/costs) negotiated preliminarily with roaming networks. It also involved analyzing the roaming quality of service in selected countries and networks and adjusting the offered technologies, services and available roaming coverage provided by the client. Additionally, the project enabled more accurate distribution of traffic between roaming partners worldwide by using a hybrid steering platform and signaling steering.
