Our client had been utilizing a nearshore contractor to augment their technical teams. They turned to Software Mind after experiencing high attrition, offer rejections and inconsistent quality from their other nearshore vendors.
We began partnering with our client in August 2023, initially providing a small team of nearshore, senior full-stack engineers embedded directly into the client’s consumer organization. Within the first year, we stabilized delivery with senior engineers and achieved industry-leading retention (under 5% voluntary turnover) while consistently meeting the client’s exceptionally high technical bar.
As confidence grew, the client continued to shift more of its nearshore consulting headcount in the consumer vertical to Software Mind, effectively replacing the incumbent vendor with our team. Within 30 months, the partnership scaled from 3 to 38 consultants across Latin America and the U.S., spanning Senior and Staff Software Engineers, Product Designers, Product Managers, DevOps Engineers and Security Engineers, making Software Mind the client’s primary and most trusted contract consultant partner within its highest-revenue generating teams and verticals.

Our client is a market-leading fintech that operates a wide array of consumer-facing digital platforms designed to provide financial information, guidance, educational content and product comparisons across various categories such as credit cards, lending, mortgages, banking, investing, insurance and more. Our client’s business model focuses on generating revenue through lead generation, affiliate marketing and partnerships with financial institutions and financial service companies who offer products and services directly to consumers.
Goals
Initially, Software Mind was brought on to elevate nearshore capabilities by providing staff engineers. Engagement quickly ramped up to address client’s capacity issues, with Software Mind delivering DevOps and security engineers, UX designers, as well as project and product managers. By becoming equal members of the team – through high contribution and ownership levels – Software Mind replaced the client’s existing, underperforming nearshore vendor with stable, high-quality nearshore support and U.S.-based consultants. Our team now has full responsibility for powering and modernizing revenue-critical growth platforms.
