Ramping up an Agile team to expand a global Internet of Things (IoT) platform

Our client is a global provider of smart telematics solutions for companies to boost fleet management efficiency. Our cooperation started with an audit of their IoT platform, with the aim of assessing its architecture, identifying issues and potential gaps and recommending improvements. Satisfied with the results of the audit and our team’s demonstrated expertise, they decided to partner with us.

To handle the increased responsibility to further develop the client’s IoT cloud-based platform and migrate customer data and features from an additional system the client acquired, Software Mind provided three Agile development teams, swiftly growing the team from three specialists to 20. Our team enhanced our client’s IoT platform by expanding its reporting abilities within set budget requirements, streamlining the processing of data received from thousands of different machines and adding a machine safety verification feature.

Along with implementing new functionalities, Software Mind also worked on merging the client’s platform and an acquired telematics system. This included reworking the platform’s user interface for a consistent look, migrating customer data and implementing features that detect collisions and trace routes of motorized equipment and vehicles. After an intensive period of engineering work, we’ve now entered the long-term partnership stage with the client, focusing on maintaining the platform and developing new functionalities.
